The episode of Gastronuts featuring Kev from Desert Adventures was finally screened on CBBC on 4th December.
For those of you who missed it and feel that you have to watch it!, it is available on BBC i-player at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00fz3gf/b00fz374/Gastronuts_Can_We_Survive_In_The_Wild/
Apart from that the only news at the moment is that together with Wilderness Survival Skills we are scheduled to provide the survival training for "Eye on Africa" in February. This is 2 cyclists planning to raise money for various charities by cycling from the UK to Cape Town. See http://www.eyeonafrica.co.uk/documents/home.html for more details.

Wind down!
The manic fortnight is over!
The day's filming for "Little Howard's Big Question" in Epping Forest went well and should be screened in the new year.
The Survival School Wayfarers Course was a great success, with all 9 of the clients on the course building outstanding shelters and managing to fend for themselves with minimal equipment for the last 24 hours.
The assessment to become an approved bushcraft trainer for the IOL was daunting but went well despite the freezing temperatures and the snow!! I will now be carrying out the first training sessions with Dave Watson from Woodland Survival Crafts in March next year.
This year is winding down with just three more courses in the UK before Christmas, but already next year is becoming booked up.

Manic 10 Days!
A couple of busy weeks coming up.....
Starting off next Friday with more T.V. work (it's a tough job but someone has to do it!). This time it's another new childrens programme for CBBC, I'll post more info later.
Saturday is a "Hen Do" for Woodland Ways Ltd www.woodland-ways.co.uk and then on Sunday it's up to Scotland with Survival School www.survivalschoolco.uk for 6 days helping out on their Wayfarers Course.
That finishes on the Friday and on the Saturday I am on a 2 day workshop in Derbyshire to be assessed on becoming an approved Bushcraft and Survival Skills trainer for the Institute of Outdoor Learning.
This is all a far cry from the sun and sand but it's important to keep the basic skills up to scratch.

The Eagle has Landed (long story!!)
Wow what a trip!!
7 fantastic people, our excellent guides and drivers, wonderful food and everything that the Moroccan Sahara could throw at us!
We certainly experienced the full range of desert weather conditions including blistering heat, cold winds, torrential rain, impressive thunder storms, dust and flash floods.......it couldn't have been better if we had planned it!
The whole trip was finished off nicely with a great meal and 1 or 2 bottles (!!) of Flag beer in Marrakech......a perfect end to a perfect trip.
On behalf of everyone I would just like to thank Mohammed and Hammed.

Countdown to the Sahara
The last month has been hectic to say the least.
After nearly 2 hours on the phone discussing details with our 4 x 4 support in the States (thank heavens for Skype!) dates and prices for the Mohave Road Trek have been finalised. We have also published dates and the price for next year's Desert Survival Training course in Morocco.
Also we have been busy keeping our basic bushcraft skills up to date working with Woodland Ways Ltd http://www.woodland-ways.co.uk/ and Wilderness Survival Skills http://www.wilderness-survival.co.uk/ on several courses in the UK. Last week we were filming for a new CBBC show called Gastronuts to be screened in the next couple of months....watch this space.
With Woodland Ways Ltd we also had a 1 day preparatory course in Oxfordshire for the clients who are on this year's Desert Survival Training Course in Morocco, even the sun shone as we sat outside and tucked into a Pigeon Tagine. Hopefully a good omen!
With just 2 days to go before we fly out to Marrakech it's time for some last minute packing and ticking off lists. Can't wait to be out there again.
